Slovenia’s Prime Minister Uses Bitcoin

During a recent visit to BTC City in Ljubljana, the Slovenian Prime Minister, Miro Cerar, received a cup of ‘crypto coffee’ bought with Bitcoin.
This is huge and highlights the progressive nature of Slovenia in regards to cryptocurrency. BTC City is the shining hallmark. It is a 475,000 meter-squared commercial business and shopping complex located in the Slovenian capital of Ljubljana. With the use of startup Eligma’s point-of-sales system, the whole complex accepts cryptocurrency as a form of payment.
In a public statement, BTC City spoke of itself as:
“The first of its kind in the world to provide its visitors, consumers and business partners with an ecosystem that will develop and integrate advanced technologies based on state-of-the-art approaches (blockchain, AI, VR [Virtual reality], AR [Augmented reality], ML [Machine Learning] and the world of cryptocurrencies).”
BTC City does stop there. They also have cryptocurrency ATMs as well as the:
“Biggest crypto mining rig in Slovenia.”
Most importantly, BTC City sees itself as a place that is leading the initiative to provide people new ways to make payments and purchases.
